Lead User Interface Designer

Position Summary:
Weather Central, LLC located in beautiful and award winning Madison, Wisconsin is looking for a Lead User Interface Designer. The company, is the leader in providing professional on-air, online, print, mobile and enterprise weather solutions and forecasting utilizing dynamic weather graphics, precise forecast models and data and patented technology.

In this position you will work with interdepartmental teams to create a world class user experience for On-Air, Web, Mobile and Wireless products. You will drive the user experience for next generation products and be responsible for ensuring their designs are simple, intuitive and support company business objectives and brand and influence information architecture and ensure designs result in optimal web server and site technical performance. You will also lead advanced design projects and work with teams to develop new processes, system design tools and design guidelines.

We are looking for someone who has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Visual Arts, Graphic Design or equivalent; 5+ years experience in designing online and consumer software product interfaces; demonstrated strong innovative and creative design skills; possesses strong understanding of industry standard applications/technologies such as HTML, CSS, AJAX, Flash, XSL; understands the importance of documentation and coding standards; ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non technical audiences; comfort working with engineering to implement designs and able to work around or within software/hardware limitations.
