Customer Development Specialist

We are seeking a training and implementation specialist with the capability to help our broadcast clients succeed. In this role you’ll facilitate and plan training and installation programs for clients and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of training to modify programs as necessary. You’ll impact the development of new training programs as required by software development and customer needs. This job doesn’t keep you tied to a desk and gives you the opportunity to get out and meet new people. You will travel extensively throughout North America and even have the opportunity for worldwide travel. You will see the results of your hard work broadcast across the country on live news broadcasts.

Position Summary

Facilitate and plan training and installation programs for clients and evaluate the impact of training to modify programs as necessary. Establish new training programs as required by software development and customer needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Train customers on-site on new or existing systems
    • Create training materials for programs and seminars
    • Create on-line material for manuals
    • Proactively set up conference calls to customize training, set expectations and answer questions regarding installation and training
    • Submit recommendations of hardware and software product enhancements
    • Document and consult with software test personnel to explain software errors
    • Acquire and maintain working knowledge of all products and Beta software
    • Support fellow trainers by customizing material for their training sessions
    • Provide support to Customer Services during high volume times and holidays
    • Other duties, responsibilities and development opportunities as assigned

    Education and Training

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology, Graphic Design, Education or related field

      Skills, Experience and Abilities

        • Teaching and/or training experience; web content production software, video production software or online training experience preferred.
        • Curriculum writing experience
        • Weather Central product knowledge preferred
        • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
        • Self-directed and able to work with a team
        • Microsoft Office products experience required
        • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Adobe Captivate, and InDesign is preferred
        • Excellent planning and organization skills
        • Leadership skills and confidence in fast pace environment
        • Ability to react and adjust quickly to training needs based on trainee’s ability; patience with a variety of customer needs and ability
        • Spanish or other foreign language a plus

        Work Environment and Physical Requirements

          • Fast paced, deadline based environment
          • Able to spend hours in front of a computer
          • Core work hours of 8am – 5pm with some after hours and weekend work as needed
          • 65-75% Monday – Friday Travel required
          • Occasional lifting to install computer systems and monitors
